The ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11) equips Atlas/Craftsman 9, 10, and 12 inch lathes for milling and line boring operations. The "T" slot mounting system on 1 5/8" centers is similar to that of the CROSS SLIDE (S-4382), except that instead of three "T" slots and tapped holes it has six "T" slots. The dimensions of the drawing are those of the ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11) received "as cast." Allow at least 1/16" machining allowance. While it is possible to use the existing gib with the new cross slide, it is recommended that longer gib be used to take advantage of the new full length "V" ways. Besides the iron casting, the kit for making the ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11) includes two full size drawing sheets, one of which shows an adaptor for mounting the topslide compound on the ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11) for turning operations. Machining instructions are also included. A milling machine is required for machining the ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11). Material for making the long gib plus nine 10-32 gib screws and jam nuts can be supplied with the CROSS SLIDE (S-4382) and ATLAS/CRAFTSMAN TYPE CROSS SLIDE (A-11) kits for an additional $10.00, no additional shipping required if sent with kit.
